How We Work

A methodical, long-term approach

Private portals and internal tools have to fit the way your business actually works – unique requirements, real users, and existing systems all in the mix.

Discovery & Requirements

Understanding your operations, users, and the problem to solve

Internal tools exist to solve specific operational problems, so we start by learning how your teams work today and where things break down. The goal is a shared, precise understanding of what the application needs to do and for whom.
  • Stakeholder interviews across the teams who will use the tool
  • Mapping current workflows and pinpointing bottlenecks
  • Identifying user roles and what each one needs to accomplish
  • Reviewing existing systems the application will work alongside
  • Defining goals, constraints, and what success looks like
1

Planning & Architecture

Mapping out the technical foundations

With requirements agreed, we decide how the application will be built including the technology, the architecture, and the data model. An application is only as reliable as the structure beneath it, so this is where we lay the groundwork for something secure, scalable, and built to last.
  • Technology stack and platform recommendations
  • System architecture, integrations, and access-control strategy
  • Data modelling: entities, relationships, and schema design
  • Rules for validation, integrity, and migration of existing data
  • A delivery roadmap with milestones and a phased approach
2

Wireframes & Mockups

Designing for clarity and ease of use

Here the focus is usability, not decoration. We design screens and workflows that let people do their jobs quickly and with fewer errors. We optimize to reduce clicks, minimize confusion, and reduce the training burden on your team.
  • Wireframes mapping each screen and user journey
  • Workflow and interaction design focused on efficiency
  • Interfaces built around real user roles and their tasks
  • Clickable prototypes to validate usability before development
  • A consistent, accessible pattern for every screen
3

Code Development

Building a secure, reliable application

Approved designs and specifications are built out in structured iterations, with regular check-ins so you can see progress and steer as we go. We prioritize security, maintainability, and code you’re never locked out of.
  • Front-end and back-end development in structured sprints
  • Secure authentication and role-based access control
  • Integrations with your existing systems and APIs
  • Regular demos so you can review progress and give feedback
  • Clean, documented, maintainable code
4

Testing & QA

Verifying it all works – securely and reliably

Before anything reaches your users, we test the application thoroughly and hand it to your team to validate against real-world scenarios. Nothing goes live until it’s proven and signed off.
  • Functional testing across features, roles, and permissions
  • Security and access-control testing
  • Performance and load testing under realistic conditions
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with your team
  • Tracking and resolving issues before sign-off
5

Launch

Go live with confidence

Once everything is approved and tested, an appropriate launch date and time will be scheduled. We then follow our pre-planned checklist ensuring a seamless transition. And finally, we’ll train your team to manage the site going forward.
  • Deployment to your live environment
  • Final pre-launch checks and DNS configuration
  • Analytics and tracking confirmed and working
  • Hands-on monitoring through the first hours and days
6

Onboarding & Support

Helping your team adopt and adapt

For internal tools, adoption is what determines the return on your investment. We help your team get up to speed and stay a partner as your needs change and the application grows to adapt to your business changes.
  • User training and clear documentation for your team
  • A dedicated support period after launch
  • Ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and security updates
  • Enhancements and new features as your needs evolve
  • A dedicated point of contact whenever you need us

FAQs

Don’t see the answer you were looking for? Please send us a message and we’d be happy to help.
How much does a web application typically cost?

Because of the custom nature of such solutions, there is no simple answer to this question. It ultimately depends on the problem you are trying to solve and the complexity of the solution you desire.

While we have built some smaller tools for under the $10,000 mark, our more complete web applications usually will often start at around $40,000 and can grow upwards based on complexity.

How long does it take to develop a web application?

Smaller internal tools can be delivered often within 6 – 10 weeks. Full application portals usually require significantly more planning as well as development time and can often take 4 – 6 months or more.

Do you build iOS or Android applications?

Unfortunately no, we do not build native iOS or Android apps.

Why can’t I see any project examples?
Most of our clients operate in competitive B2B markets, and their custom software is a strategic advantage. We respect NDAs by default. We’re happy to share anonymized details, reference calls, and portfolio walkthroughs under NDA once we’ve talked.
What happens after launch?

We offer flexible support arrangements, from monthly retainers to on-call maintenance. Most clients continue working with us for years after their initial launch enhancing their application with added functionality.
