Why it Happens

Why do websites get hacked?

Most intrusions aren’t personal – they’re opportunistic. Hackers utilize automated tools to scan your website for vulnerabilities, exploiting them for financial gain or to cause disruption.

Page defacement

Attackers replace your content to embarrass your brand or disrupt your operations.

Blackhat SEO

Hidden spam links are injected into your pages to manipulate search engine rankings.

Data theft

Your visitors’ personal information — including passwords and payment data — is intercepted and stolen.

SPAM distribution

Your server is hijacked to send mass spam emails, harming your domain’s reputation.

The average cost to restore a hacked website is $3,200. That’s not counting lost business during the downtime.

The Real Cost

The cost of doing nothing

A hacked website isn’t just a technical headache, it’s a business emergency. From lost revenue to damaged customer trust, the consequences can be severe and long-lasting.

Search engine blacklisting

Google may flag your site as unsafe, blocking visitors for weeks while reinstatement is processed.

Data loss & corruption

Customer records, orders, and content can be permanently damaged or destroyed.

Stolen customer data

Exposed passwords and credit card data can result in regulatory consequences and loss of trust.

Good To Know

FAQs

If you still have questions about our maintenance services, please send us a message and we’d be happy to help.
Is my website 100% guaranteed to be secure?

No solution can ever guarantee complete security, and we’ll never claim otherwise. What we can do is dramatically reduce your risk and identify any problems early before they escalate.

What are your support hours?
We operate Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm EST, excluding statutory holidays. Site updates are usually handled outside of business hours to minimize any downtime. However, we are on call outside of these hours to handle any emergencies that may arise.
Can I cancel or switch plans at any time?
Yes, there’s no minimum commitment. You are welcome to change your plan (up or down) or cancel altogether, as long as you give us 30 days written notice.
Does this cover more than one website?
Each plan covers on website on a single domain. If you need coverage for multiple sites, contact us and we’ll work something out.
How do you perform website updates?

All updates – whether to WordPress core files, plugins, or WooCommerce extensions – are first applied to a staging version of your website. This lets us verify that everything works correctly and that there are no compatibility issues before the changes are pushed to your live site. The rare exception to this is that some minor WordPress security patches may applied automatically, should they be deemed critical.

Doesn’t my web hosting provider include all these services?

Sometimes there is some overlap of some of our maintenance services with your existing hosting provider. However, often they are not as robust or complete as what we offer.

And in the case of backup and recovery, sometimes it is an “all or nothing” situation and doesn’t allow restoration of individual files with minimal disruption to the remainder of your website.
